Mint Hill is a lovely suburb outside of Charlotte NC. It’s located in southeastern Mecklenburg and northwestern Union counties. It’s also very near the Cabarrus County line. It’s served by both Duke Energy Carolinas and Union Power Cooperative.
Both energy providers are easy and efficient to deal with. Both allow for online or telephone enrollment.
- Duke Energy – (800) 777-9898
- Union Power – (800) 972-6840.
HOW TO GET THE POWER TURNED ON
To get your lights turned on, both companies will need to know your current/former residential address and the address at your new home. If you have a separate mailing address, they will need to know that too. Plus, they need your birth date, social security and information about your housemates or spouse.
They allow you to choose the date for the power to be turned on, and will request that date from you. Still, they need a heads up. Make sure you give them three days notice so they can get you on their schedule.
If you don’t meet their credit requirements, don’t worry. All that means is that they will need a security deposit from you. Though if you are a current customer, they probably will not require any kind of additional credit check or deposit.
Also, you should know that both companies charge less than $30 for connection fees.
Energy Tip: Did you know that a ceiling fan that spins clockwise pulls the cool air up and makes a room feel warmer?
