University City NC Homes for Sale

The vibrant “city within a city” known as University City in Charlotte is located in the northeast region of our beautiful community. It surrounds the state’s fifth-largest university, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The Charlotte University area real estate market has a number of established home communities, such as Highland Creek, Skybrook, Lexington, Radbourne and others (see below). However, with the current shortage of inventory of existing homes, may home buyers are turning to new construction homes for sale to avoid the “bidding wars” for existing homes in the area and are finding the home building process and working with home builders to not be as overwhelming as many believe it to be.

ZIP Codes in University City

University City encompasses several ZIP codes because the area spans from the desirable Back Creek Church Road and Rocky River Road areas to the east, and the Mallard Creek, Eastfield Road and Prosperity Church Road areas to the north.

Further extending north is the southern tip of Huntersville, which includes the popular communities of Skybrook and the upscale John Wieland/Pulte Homes new home community of Olmsted in Huntersville.

Finally, University City crosses into the neighboring Cabarrus County towns of Harrisburg and Concord, which offer lower taxes and a more suburban lifestyle.
