If you’re buying a home in Uptown Charlotte, Mint Hill, South Park, or Ballantyne, you’ll love knowing that you’ll be close to Mint Hill, home of Mint Hill Madness — a fun, family-friendly event that happens once a year.
What is Mint Hill Madness?
Mint Hill Madness happens on Memorial Day Weekend every year. It’s a great family-friendly day of activities (no alcohol or pets are permitted). There are fireworks and a parade that loops around the fairground.
You should definitely check out the Battle of Mint Hill, one of the best parts of the festival. Athletes form two-person teams and participate in fun, competitive workouts. Kids in Mint Hill really like playing Knockerball, too, where they climb inside giant inflatable balls and battle it out against 9 other people.
Local bands provide great live music to go along with the day’s activities. If you like carnival rides, you’ll be in good company: Mint Hill Madness always has really fun rides like a swing ride and small, child-friendly rollercoasters. You can pick up an all-you-can-ride wristband to get easily from one ride to another.
In addition to the local bands, Mint Hill Madness also promotes local vendors and crafts to browse while munching on funnel cake and drinking lemonade.
Because admission is free, it’s a great opportunity to invite lots of your friends to come too.
