North Carolina property owners should be aware that the annual Application for Property Tax Relief is due by June 1 this year. The Application for Property Tax Relief extends to people who are elderly or disabled or are disabled veterans. Applications for the following three property tax relief programs are due in less than one month:
- Elderly or Disabled Exclusion (G.S. 105-277.1)
- Disabled Veteran Exclusion (G.S. 105-277.1C)
- Circuit Breaker Tax Deferment Program (G.S. 105-277.1B)

Application for Property Tax Relief: June 1st!
Make sure to submit your application for property tax relied to your county assessor. Find the assessor’s addresses and phone numbers for each county here.
Keep in mind: You’ll only receive relief from one program, but you aren’t sure which program will benefit you most, you can apply to more than one program. Once the assessor looks through your application, the office will send you a letter informing you of your options.
