Duke Energy Carolinas and Union Power are your primary sources for electricity in Mint Hill. Both make the enrollment process quick and efficient. You can enroll online or call their customer service line. You reach Duke Energy at (800) 777-9898 and Union Power at (800) 972-6840.

You must provide them with the following details:

  • New home address
  • Old residential address
  • Date to commence service
  • Mailing address
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security number
  • Spouse or roommate information

You should start the enrollment process at least 3 days prior to your desired date of starting the service. Duke Energy charges a nominal $15 connection fee. Union Power charges $25. You will see these charges on your first bill. A security deposit is only required if you do not meet their credit requirements. If you opt to decline a credit check, be prepared to pay a standard deposit fee. Previous customers with a great payment history may not require a credit check or deposit.
