Cinco de Mayo events take place all around Charlotte this Saturday. Here are some of the coolest events we’ve heard about.
First and foremost, Charlotte’s Largest Cinco de Mayo block party (presented by Hot Taco with Slate Charlotte, All American Pub and Oak Room) goes from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Saturday. There’s free admittance and tacos are just $2. Enjoy frozen margaritas and cornita flips. Participate in a raffle for a chance to win tickets to the Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach.
Next, check out the Kill the Keg-Cinco party at Midwood Smokehouse celebrates between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Brandywine Road. Drink craft beer on the patio and pig out on some BBQ. Tickets are $5 and include a a 16-oz. Legion Brewing Margarita Gose in a Midwood Smokehouse cup you can bring home. Plus, it features a nacho bar and the ticket gets you free nachos!
Legion Brewing’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration lasts all day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is right on Commonwealth Ave.. Enjoy a Grapefruit Jalapeño version of Legion’s Gose margarita. Enjoy a Cinco de Mayo themed-brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. Then, don’t miss out on their tacos and queso fundido. Plus, live music starting 2 p.m.!
Are you a young professional living in Charlotte? An RSVP party at The Imperial takes place on the rooftop. It’s hosted by EatWorkPlay CLT and Don Julio. Admission: $20.
Want to pass on tacos but embrace the culture? Check out the 16th Annual Dancing Through Latin America 2018 show presented by the Carolinas’ Latin Dance Company at 7 p.m.. $15.
Want to have fun on Saturday with none of the Cinco de Mayo festivities? Dover Vineyards will have wine for the sale by the flight, glass or bottle. Plus, it’ll feature live music by the vineyard. Well, OK, so a food truck with authentic Mexican tacos “may” swing by, but other than that, they promise it’s “Not a Cinco de Mayo party.”
